Are you a tourism management student, graduate or entrepreneur? If so, UNWTO and Sommet Education offer you a chance to shine!
COVID-19 has wreaked havoc in the travel sector, and brilliant minds are needed to stimulate a healthy recovery. August applications are open for any innovative idea that helps accelerate sustainable rejuvenation within the industry, and, by the end of this month, 30 scholarships for high caliber tourism education programmes will be issued to the winners of the initiative “Hospitality Challenge”. The priority is set specifically on sustainability criteria to improve luxury travel, hospitality, food and beverage, and smart real estate.
Secretary-General of UNWTO, Zurab Pololikashvili, said: “The tourism sector is a source of employment for many millions. Jobs in tourism provide opportunity, empowerment, and equality, including for women, youth and people living in rural communities. As we restart tourism, the time is right to rethink hospitality, and to identify and implement new ideas to make the sector more inclusive and sustainable. The UNWTO Hospitality Challenge will do just this.”
