From now on, cabin crew in international flights will be more prepared to spot and prevent human trafficking across borders. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has developed an e-learning course for airplane employees to observe passengers over the duration of their flights and potentially identify and assist victims of human trafficking. This platform will support the implementation of the ICAO-OHCHR Guidelines for Training Cabin Crew and will be supplemented by further airline training on specific internal procedures and practices. ⠀
1 in 200 people worldwide is still being forced into deplorable work and living conditions, according to The International Labour Office, a practice which is akin to modern slavery.⠀
